12-18 year olds & the over 65's skiing this winter in France

15/11/2021

12-18 year olds

France currently has a health pass requirement for entry to restaurants, bars, cinemas, swimming pools for the age group 12-18 year olds.  You do not need one for skiing or shopping or ski hire shops.  This age group qualifies for 1 jab in the UK yet France require 2 for a health pass.

Speaking to local restaurant owners who we know, they have an obligation to check health passes on entry but will be sensible in these circumstances. Take that as you wish but read between the lines.

The law states that this age group, (12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 year olds) will need a negative PCR test every 3 days (72 hours), meaning at least 2 for a weeks holiday. Tests will be available at the Medival Centre in Val d'Isere and there will be on-line booking system to reserve ahead of time, as announced this morning in Val d'Isere.  Once we have been given the on-line booking link, we will share this with you all.

Over 65's

The over 65 skier coming to France will also need a 3rd booster jab that will be mandatory from 15th December and in order to get a health pass.  So we all need to be aware of these 2 points.

Skiing - where there's a will there's a way.
