Flying to Geneva (Switzerland) & entering France to go to Val d'Isere

21/11/2021

We called the Swiss helpline this week (+41 58 464 44 88 (6am-11pm) to clarify various points and we learnt:

Q1:   Clients flying from UK to Geneva, do they have to complete the entry form for Switzerland if they are not staying in Geneva but driving or getting a taxi straight to resort?

A:      They are exempt but she recommends they do the form to prevent any problems.

Q2:   Proof of vaccination is only necessary to gain entry (no PCR test necessary) from UK to Geneva - is this correct?

A:     Yes, proof of vaccination will be required on entry.  No PCR test is necessary for vaccinated passengers.

Q3:   Do clients have to complete the entry form for France for their border?

A:      You need to ask France but we believe yes, the attestation d'honneur is necessary, link  Certificate of international travel / L'actu du Ministère / Actualités - Ministère de l'Intérieur (interieur.gouv.fr)

Q4:   Is  there any other requirement for crossing the Swiss to France border?

A:      No

Q5:    What if a client is flying from UK to Geneva and on landing goes directly through arrivals to the French side; are they fully exempt of any Swiss rules as they are on French territory?

A:       They can go straight to France but then need to abide by French entry rules. Entry requirements - France travel advice - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

Note:  anyone wanting to use a Swiss restaurant whilst in transit will need a Swiss certificate available on BAG website at cost of 30 Francs. COVID certificate (admin.ch)
