In the centre of Val d’Isère’s original village, a stone’s throw from the ski slopes, this freshly renovated family hotel has cast off the clichés to propose 46 rooms reflecting the light-hearted good humour of a clear mountain sky. Re-named after the Ormelune mountain, a nearby summit seated on the Franco-Italian border, the new hotel, like its namesake, takes us cheerfully off the beaten track, its imaginative decor and fun-filled comfort a happy alternative to the resort’s more standard hotel offerings.
Vivid colours, a relaxed atmosphere, warmth and comfort – the Ormelune is all about fun and freedom.
Let the Ormelune lift your spirits to new heights in a realm of radiant good humour that leaves no room for the greyer shades of life.
Spacious and invigorating. Playful and practical. The hotel Ormelune offers 46 rooms in 5 categories over 4 floors. The south facing rooms overlooking the ski runs have balconies with splendid mountain views and the remaining rooms look out over the village.
The decor shakes off those predictable alpine clichés, opting for a modern colour scheme cheerfully contrasting bright tangy colours with earthy tones.
Floors are comfortably carpeted in a bark-patterned design.
Walls are decorated in two tones which vary according to the room category, with a deep wood-brown along the lower half of the walls contrasting with the vivacious colours above.
The Small category rooms wear deep brown and orange tones, the Medium-category alternates deep brown and yellow, the Large proposes deep brown and red, and the Extra large deep brown and green.
The curtains are in colours toning in with the wall colours.
The furnishings and accessories keep faith with the contemporary colour scheme: comfy armchairs in cheerfully striped velvet – large contemporary-style standard lamp – undressed wood surfaces – goatskin chair – the old-fashioned coloured telephone revisited…
Room fittings: bathroom with bath or shower, separate toilet, direct phone, TV, Internet access, safe.
